Michigan eLibrary Curriculum Connections: K-5 Social Studies

This course is designed to connect teachers to free, available content that can support each of the disciplines (civics & government, economics, geography, and history) within the Michigan K-5 social studies curriculum. Additionally, the content available through MeL gives teachers the resources they need to achieve many of the goals highlighted in the Essential Instructional Practices in Literacy. The ability to connect students to resources such as atlases, primary source documents, magazine articles, biographies, images, maps, video clips and so much more is so imperative to their academic success. With persistent links available to these multi-media eResources, teachers can easily organize this content in their digital plan books and learning management systems such as Google Classroom and Schoology.
