Foundations of Math is a series of sessions, or courses, focused on mathematical content knowledge. It is appropriate for general and special educators. It will support teachers in examining mathematical procedures from a conceptual standpoint and increasing sense-making for learners who struggle with methods reliant on memorization or procedure. The EduPaths courses include an introduction, a course for each component of number sense, one on lesson construction, and a final course covering assessment and data. This Algebraic Thinking Course focuses on using what we know to discover what we don’t know by exploring patterns and relationships, making predictions, modeling situations, and solving problems.
