
Foundations of Family Partnerships
This foundational training provides an overview of the research supporting family partnerships and introduces Michigan's definition and principles of family engagement. Participants will explore the difference between family involvement and family partnerships, examine strategies for building equitable and meaningful relationships with families, and identify practices that support positive learning environments. The course also addresses common challenges in family partnerships and highlights strategies to overcome them. Additionally, participants will learn how family partnerships connect to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and how to collaborate with families to support academic and behavioral outcomes. Throughout the course, learners will engage with tools, resources, and reflection activities to strengthen family partnerships in their own educational settings.
